PrivatBank launches joint project with Viber

PrivatBank launched a joint project with Viber. The service will accept payments for services service Viber Out * – calls to mobiles and landlines using one of the country’s most popular instant messengers. PrivatBank launches money transfers via Telegram in only a couple of clicks

PrivatBank launched @Paypbbot for Telegram that helps users of the popular messenger to send and receive money in one click. To send or request a money transfer using the bot you just need to type @Paypbbot and write the payment amount in the chat with your friend (watch the video).

PrivatBank is the first Ukrainian bank that launched a money transfer service in a messenger. To send or receive money via Telegram you just need to register in @Paypbbot, confirm the phone number, specify the last 4 digits of a plastic card that will be used to send or receive money and confirm the choice of the card by entering the SMS-password from the bank.

The bot-service of transfers is available to all holders of PrivatBank plastic cards. Money can be sent only in local currency (Ukrainian hryvnia).

Consolidated profit of PrivatBank for 2015 totaled UAH 275 mln

According to PrivatBank’s audited consolidated annual report published on the bank’s website, the consolidated profit of PrivatBank for 2015 grew by 11.4% compared to 2014 and totaled UAH 275 mln.

As per the financial statements prepared under International Financial Reporting Standards and audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), one of the world’s leading auditing companies, the capital of PrivatBank Group as of the end of 2015 amounts UAH 29,045 mln, and assets total UAH 247,934 mln. The bank’s capital adequacy ratio (CAR) according to Basel requirements improved from 13.7% up to 14.9% in 2015 and PrivatBank’s CAR according to the regulatory requirements of the National Bank of Ukraine was 11% (with the mandatory minimum of 10%).

PrivatBank is the leader of the Ukrainian market. According to the GFK Ukraine research of banking services for individuals, as of the end of 4Q2015 48.4% of customers of Ukrainian banks used PrivatBank services and more than every third Ukrainian (39.3% of respondents) considered PrivatBank their major bank. The research showed 42.6% of Ukrainian corporates use the services of PrivatBank.

PrivatBank supports e-commerce forum in Berlin

PrivatBank will be the information partner of the first Ukrainian-European e-commerce market forum scheduled on 1 September, 2016 in Berlin.

According to the forum’s organisers, including BGA (The Federation of German Wholesale, Foreign Trade and Services) and BVMW (The German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses), since the beginning of 2016 German and European markets with more than 500 mln customers have been opened for Ukrainian enterprises in line with the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DCFTA).

PrivatBank named best Ukrainian bank at 2015 European Banking Awards

PrivatBank wins Europe Bank Award PrivatBankNews

PrivatBank was named the best Ukrainian bank in the 2015 European Banking Awards. The awards are published annually by British EMEA Finance magazine.

“We proudly announce the best banks of Central and Eastern Europe, for their accomplishments despite the very challenging yet rewarding year for the region’s banking system,” according to the magazine’s release. “Editorial experts recognised the best financial institutions among retail and investment banks as well as asset managers, brokers and consultancies.”

This is yet another big award for PrivatBank. Back in February 2016, PrivatBank won the “best deal” of Eastern Europe for its agreement to extension of Eurobond maturities with private foreign investors. The refinancing deal was recognised as the absolute winner among all similar transactions across Europe.

PrivatBank tentatively sees 4.8-fold rise in profit in 2015

PrivatBank, the largest commercial bank in Ukraine, saw a 4.8-fold profit rise in 2015 to UAH 230 million, according to audited data.

Total assets for PrivatBank increased by 21.6 percent in 2015 to UAH 258.686 billion. Cash more than doubled to UAH 29.631 billion; non-current liabilities increased by 29.5 percent to UAH 159.5 billion; and current liabilities by 27.8 percent to UAH 58.625 billion.

PrivatBank‘s net worth increased 12.9 percent to UAH 27.656 billion, including a 17.4 percent increase of charter capital to UAH 21.257 billion.

PrivatBank decreased the number of employees by 2,983 to 20,936 people over the last year.

PrivatBank is holding a general meeting of its shareholders later in April.

PrivatBank was founded in 1992. Its largest
shareholders were Hennadiy Boholiubov and Ihor Kolomoisky as of January 1, 2016. The bank ranked first among the 123 operating banks in the country as of October 1, 2015, in terms of total assets worth UAH 241.809 billion, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.

The contactless payments is a hassle-free option which allows users to simply show the watch display to a card reader when making purchases rather than exchange cash or swipe a card. The user’s bank information, already stored in the app, is then charged.

Privat24 contactless payments via smart watches are available for use in over 55,000 outlets with MasterCard and PayPass in Ukraine, including on the subway and express tramway stations in Kiev.

PrivatBank launches online marketplace platform PrivatMarket

PrivatBank, the largest commercial bank in Ukraine, has launched its own online platform called PrivatMarket. The platform is aimed at bringing buyers and suppliers together for both private and business clients of PrivatBank.

PrivatMarket, now live, offers buyers “the largest directory of companies in Ukraine” where they can publish tenders, requests, and read reviews about potential suppliers. Sellers can post information about their company, products and services, and participate in tenders and applications.

In November of last year, PrivatBank partnered with the public procurement system ProZorro for client tenders. “All tenders that will be held via ProZorro will be available for clients of [PrivatBank] via Privat24 and PrivatMarket,” said deputy board chairman and Chief Information Officer Dmytro Dubilet.

PrivatMarket enters the market as a strong competitor to existing online marketplaces but Dubilet is confident they stand apart. “To some extent we are going to compete with them. On the other hand, our service is easier to use and we have a serious integration with our banking services and our mobile payments app Privat24,” said Dubilet.
